April 17th marked 5 years since the Rainbow Early Childhood Care Centre, was established in Tacuarembó. The centre was a first of its kind in the region as it was a tripartite agreement between LUMIN®, the Wood Workers Union Organization (OSTM), the National Care System (SNC) and the National Children and Adolescent Institute of Uruguay (INAU).

The centre provides education and care for children who are new-born up to age 3. It currently services 67 children and their families, 54 of which are LUMIN employees and 13 are from the local community.

Since opening in 2018, 280 children have benefited from the Rainbow Care Centre which prioritises care for LUMIN workers including contractors with small children or grandchildren, as well as children who live in the surrounding neighbourhood.
