Participation in the International Forum: Gender Equality is a good business. LUMIN is committed to the Principles of Empowerment of Women / Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs) under the Win-Win program: Gender equality is a good business, implemented by UN Women in partnership with the International Labor Organization (ILO) to promote gender equality through the private sector. These principles pose as a fundamental approach that gender equality, can be visualized as a good business, since it makes companies more competitive, profitable, improves productivity and the work environment. Within this framework, the Human Resources Manager of LUMIN, Mara Pisano; was part of the delegation of 15 women from the Uruguayan business sector who participated in the São Paulo WEPs 2019 Forum: A Call to Action for Social Transformation. This Forum is organized annually by UN Women and the International Labor Organization, with the aim of publicizing the good practices that are being carried out and implemented in different countries in relation to gender equality. Some of the topics that were worked on in the different panels were:

• Policies on the promotion of women in key and leadership positions

• Promotion of education and training of women at all levels within organizations.

• Parental leave - role distributed between mothers and fathers.

• Dissemination of different forms of economic aid and cooperatives, to provide economic opportunities to women

• Investment mechanisms

• Marketing, advertising and communication with a gender perspective

• Promote gender equality in communities.

For LUMIN it was an excellent experience with the possibility of “listening and learning about the good practices that are taking place in the different business areas and being able to interact and learn more about the subject, it was fundamental”, at the same time ” continue with the practices adopted by the company for the promotion of gender equality in the work environment, in the productive chains and in the communities of which the company is part
